• தமிழ்நாடு அரசு சாலை பாதுகாப்பு, சாலை விபத்துக்களை குறைத்தல், சாலை விபத்தில் உயிரிழப்புகளை தடுத்தல் ஆகியவற்றில் சிறப்பு கவனம் செலுத்தி செயல்படுத்தும் புதிய திட்டமாகும். 
• அந்த வகையில், சாலை விபத்தினால் ஏற்படும் உயிர் இழப்புகளை குறைத்திடும் நோக்கில் தமிழ்நாடு அரசால் வகுக்கப்பட்ட திட்டமே இன்னுயிர் காப்போம் திட்டம்.
• இத்திட்டத்தின் முக்கிய அங்கமாக, சாலை விபத்தினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு முதல் 48 மணி நேரத்திற்கான அவசர மருத்துவ சிகிச்சை செலவை தமிழ்நாடு அரசே மேற்கொள்ளும் வகையில் இன்னுயிர் காப்போம் - நம்மைக் காக்கும் திட்டம் தொடங்கி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• இத்திட்டத்திற்கென் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட 201 அரசு மருத்துவமனைகள் மற்றும் 408 தனியார் மருத்துவமனைகள், என மொத்தம் 609 மருத்துவமனைகள் உரிய தகுதியின் அடிப்படையில் இணைக்கப்பட்டு, மருத்துவச் சிகிச்சைகள் வழங்கிட வழிவகை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
• சாலை விபத்துகளில் காயமடைந்தவர்களுக்கு விபத்து ஏற்பட்ட முதல் 48 மணி நேரம் மிக முக்கியம் என்பதை கருத்தில் கொண்டு இத்திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் முதலமைச்சரின் மருத்துவக் காப்பீட்டு அட்டை உடையவர்கள், இல்லாதவர்கள், பிற மாநிலத்தவர், வெளிநாட்டவர் என அனைவருக்கும் வருமான வரம்பு ஏதும் கணக்கில் கொள்ளாமல், தமிழ்நாட்டின் எல்லைக்குள் ஏற்படும் சாலை விபத்துகளில் காயமடைவோர்களுக்கு முதல் 48 மணி நேரம் வரை கட்டணமின்றி மருத்துவ சிகிச்சை அளிக்கப்படும். தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட 81 மருத்துவச் சிகிச்சை முறைகளுக்கு நபர் ஒருவருக்கு ரூ.1 லட்சம் வரை செலவினத்தில் (ceiling limit) சிகிச்சை மேற்கொள்ளப்படும்.
• இத்திட்டத்தில், சாலை விபத்தில் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர் உள்நோயாளியாக அனுமதிக்கப்படும் மருத்துவமனையிலேயே முதல் 48 மணி நேரம் வரை அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட சிசிக்சை முறைகளில் (81 treatment Packages) சிகிச்சை அளிக்கப்படும்.
• 48 மணி நேரத்திற்கு மேலும் சாலை விபத்தில் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர் நிலையற்றவராக (Unstable) இருந்தால் அல்லது தொடர் சிகிச்சை நடைமுறைகள் தேவைப்பட்டால், பின்வரும் மூன்று வழிகாட்டுதல்களின்படி சிகிச்சைகள் வழங்கப்படும்
• முதலமைச்சரின் விரிவான மருத்துவக் காப்பீட்டுத் திட்ட பயனாளியாக இருந்தால், நோயாளி மேற்கொள்ளும் சிகிச்சை காப்பீட்டுத் திட்டத்தில் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தால், நோயாளியை நிலைப்படுத்தி அந்த மருத்துவமனையிலேயே மேலும் சிகிச்சை தொடரலாம்.
• முதலமைச்சரின் விரிவான மருத்துவக் காப்பீட்டுத் திட்ட பயனாளியாக இல்லாமல் இருந்தால், நோயாளி மேற்கொள்ளும் சிகிச்சை காப்பீட்டுத் திட்டத்தில் இல்லை என்றால், நோயாளியை நிலைப்படுத்தி அரசு மருத்துவமனைக்கு மாற்றி சிகிச்சையை கட்டணமில்லாமல் தொடரலாம்.
• சாலை விபத்தில் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர் அரசு மருத்துவமனைக்கு செல்ல தயாராக இல்லை என்றாலோ (அல்லது) தனியார் காப்பீட்டிலோ (அல்லது) பணம் செலுத்தியோ சிகிச்சையை பெற விரும்பினால், நோயாளியை நிலைப்படுத்தி அதே மருத்துவமனையிலோ அல்லது அவர் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் பிற மருத்துவமனையிலோ சிகிச்சைக்கான கட்டணத் தொகையை தனிநபரே செலுத்தி சிகிச்சையைத் தொடரலாம்.
• இன்னுயிர் காப்போம் - நம்மைக் காக்கும் 48 திட்டத்தில், அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட அரசு மற்றும் தனியார் மருத்துவமனைகள் பற்றிய விவரங்கள் மாவட்ட வாரியாக பட்டியலிடப்பட்டு பொதுமக்கள் அனைவரும் அறியும் வகையில் வலைத்தளங்களில் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளன. 
• மேலும், இது குறித்து விவரங்களை மருத்துவமனை, அவசரகால ஊர்தி பணியாளர்கள் உள்ளிட்ட அனைவரும் அறியும் வகையில் மாவட்ட நிர்வாகத்தின் மூலமாக விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இத்திட்டம் குறித்து மேலும் விவரங்கள் அறிய கட்டணமில்லா தொலைபேசி எண் 104-ஐ தொடர்பு கொள்ளலாம்.

• Tamil Nadu Government is implementing a new scheme with special focus on road safety, reduction of road accidents and prevention of road accident fatalities. In that way, the Innuir Kappom scheme is a scheme designed by the Tamil Nadu government to reduce the loss of life due to road accidents.
• As an important part of this scheme, the Tamil Nadu government will bear the cost of emergency medical treatment for the first 48 hours of the road accident victims, Innuiur Kaappom program has been launched.
• A total of 609 hospitals, including 201 government hospitals and 408 private hospitals approved for this scheme, have been connected on the basis of eligibility and provided medical treatment. This scheme has been started considering that the first 48 hours after the accident is very important for those injured in road accidents.
• Through this scheme, the Chief Minister's medical insurance card was issued on 2017-02-20 at the Vandaway machine for all, regardless of income limit, those injured in road accidents within Tamil Nadu will be given medical treatment free of charge for the first 48 hours. 81 selected medical treatments will be treated at a ceiling limit of Rs.1 lakh per person.
• In this scheme, the road accident victim will be treated in the hospital where he is admitted as an in-patient for the first 48 hours in approved treatment packages (81 treatment packages).
• If the road accident victim is unstable for more than 48 hours or requires follow-up procedures, the following three guidelines will be followed:
• If the patient is a beneficiary of the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Medical Insurance Scheme and the treatment undertaken by the patient is approved by the insurance scheme, the patient can be stabilized and further treated in that hospital.
• If the patient is not a beneficiary of the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Medical Insurance Scheme and the treatment being undertaken by the patient is not covered by the insurance scheme, the patient can be stabilized and transferred to a government hospital for further treatment free of charge.
• If the road accident victim is not willing to go to a government hospital (or) wants to get treatment through private insurance (or) payment, the patient can be stabilized and treated in the same hospital or any other hospital of his choice and the individual can continue the treatment by paying the fee.
• In Innuiir Kappom - Protect Us 48 scheme, details of approved government and private hospitals have been listed district-wise and published on the websites for the public to know.
