கடல் மாலை திட்டம் (Sagar Mala project) இந்தியத் துறைமுகங்களை சர்வதேச தரத்திற்கு உயர்த்தி அமைப்பதே கடல் மாலைத் திட்டத்தின் நோக்கமாகும். இதனால் நாட்டின் கடற்கரை பகுதிகளில் தொழில் மற்றும் போக்குவரத்து வசதிகள் மேம்படும்.

இந்திய அரசு, சாகர்மாலை வளர்ச்சி நிறுவனத்தை (Sagarmala Development Company) 20 சூலை 2016இல் 1,000 கோடி ரூபாய் மூலதனத்துடன் துவக்கியது. இந்திய அரசு தனது பங்காக சாகர் மாலை வளர்ச்சி நிறுவனத்தில் முதலில் 90 கோடி ரூபாய் பங்கு முதலீடு செய்துள்ளது.

Background
On 25 March 2015, the Union Cabinet of India approved the Maritime Mall Project, planned by the Indian Ministry of Shipping, which will develop 12 ports and 1208 islands in India.
