• 19-வது அழிந்து வரும் காடு மற்றும் தாவர இனங்களின் சர்வதேச வர்த்தக மாநாடு, பனாமாவின் செனிக் நகரத்தில் நவம்பர் (2022) 14-ம் தேதி தொடங்கி 25-ம் தேதி வரை நடைபெறுகிறது.
• 10 கிலோ கிராம் எடையிலான ரோஸ்வுட் மரத்தால் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட பொருட்களை ஏற்றுமதி செய்வதற்கு அழிந்து வரும் இனங்களின் சர்வதேச வர்த்தக மாநாட்டின்  அனுமதி தேவைப்படுகிறது. 
• இந்தக் கட்டுப்பாடு காரணமாக இந்தியாவின் ரோஸ்வுட் மரத்தால் தயாரிக்கப்படும் அறைகலன் மற்றும் கைவினைப் பொருட்கள் ஏற்றுமதி தொடர்ந்து சரிந்து வருகிறது. 
• இதன் காரணமாக ரோஸ்வுட் பொருட்களின் ஏற்றுமதி தொழிலில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ள சுமார் 50,000 கலைஞர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• இதையடுத்து, தற்போது நடைபெற்று வரும் கூட்டத்தில், ரோஸ்வுட் பொருட்களின் ஏற்றுமதியின் அளவை அதிகரிப்பது குறித்து இந்தியா பரிந்துரைத்தது. 
• இந்திய பிரதிநிதிகள் அளித்த நீண்ட விளக்கங்களுக்கு பிறகு 10 கிலோ கிராமுக்கு குறைவாக எடை கொண்ட ஒவ்வொரு  ரோஸ்வுட் மரத்தாலான பொருட்களை ஏற்றுமதி செய்வதற்கு அனுமதி தேவையில்லை என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. 
• மேலும், மரத்தாலான பொருட்கள் மட்டுமே, கணக்கில் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும் என்றும் இரும்பு போன்ற பொருட்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட பொருட்கள், இதில் சேர்க்கப்படாது என்றும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
• இந்த நடவடிக்கை இந்திய கைவினைஞர்களுக்கும் அறைகலன் தொழில்துறைக்கும் பெரிய நிவாரணமாக உள்ளது.

• The 19th International Conference on Trade in Endangered Forest and Plant Species will be held from 14 to 25 November (2022) in Senique, Panama. Exporting rosewood products weighing 10 kilograms requires a permit from the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.
• India's exports of furniture and handicrafts made from rosewood continue to decline due to this restriction. Due to this the livelihood of around 50,000 artisans involved in the export business of rosewood products has been affected.
• Accordingly, in the ongoing meeting, India has recommended increasing the volume of exports of rosewood products. After lengthy explanations by the Indian delegation, it was announced that export of all rosewood products weighing less than 10 kg would not require a permit.
• It is further stated that only wooden products will be taken into account and products made using materials like iron will not be included. This move is a big relief to Indian artisans and furniture industry.
