• மத்திய மின்சாரம் மற்றும் புதிய மற்றும் புதுப்பிக்கத்தக்க எரிசக்தி அமைச்சர் ராஜ் குமார் சிங் கிராம் உஜாலா திட்டத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.
• கிராம் உஜாலா திட்டம், உலகின் மிக மலிவான எல்இடி பல்புகளை நாட்டின் கிராமப்புறங்களில் ரூ.10 விலையில் வழங்குவதற்காக தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• இத்திட்டத்தின் முதல் கட்டம் பீகாரில் உள்ள அர்ராவில் இருந்து தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
• முதல் கட்டமாக 5 மாநிலங்களில் உள்ள கிராமங்களில் 15 மில்லியன் எல்இடி பல்புகள் விநியோகிக்கப்படும்.
• பீகாரில் உள்ள அர்ராவில் இருந்து தொடங்கப்பட்ட அதன் முதல் கட்டமாக, ஆரா (பீகார்), வாரணாசி (உத்தரப் பிரதேசம்), விஜயவாடா (ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசம்), நாக்பூர் (மகாராஷ்டிரா) மற்றும் மேற்கு குஜராத்தில் உள்ள கிராமங்களில் 15 மில்லியன் எல்இடி பல்புகள் விநியோகிக்கப்படும். .
• ஒளி-உமிழும் டையோடு (LED) என்பது இன்றைய மிகவும் ஆற்றல்-திறனுள்ள மற்றும் வேகமாக வளரும் லைட்டிங் தொழில்நுட்பங்களில் ஒன்றாகும்.

செயல்படுத்தல்

• 7 வாட் மற்றும் 12 வாட் LED பல்புகள் 3 வருட உத்தரவாதத்துடன் கிராமப்புற நுகர்வோருக்கு வேலை செய்யும் ஒளிரும் பல்புகளை சமர்ப்பிப்பதற்கு எதிராக வழங்கப்படும்.
• ஒவ்வொரு குடும்பமும் 5 LED வரை கிடைக்கும்.
• பங்கேற்கும் கிராமப்புற குடும்பங்களும் தங்கள் வீடுகளில் பயன்பாட்டிற்காக மீட்டர் பொருத்தப்பட்டிருக்கும்.
• LED பல்புகளை அரசு நடத்தும் எனர்ஜி எஃபிஷியன்சி சர்வீசஸ் லிமிடெட் (EESL) துணை நிறுவனமான கன்வர்ஜென்ஸ் எனர்ஜி சர்வீசஸ் லிமிடெட் (CESL) வழங்குகிறது.
• EESL என்பது மின்சார அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் உள்ள ஒரு பொதுத்துறை நிறுவனமாகும் (PSU).

• The Union Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister Raj Kumar Singh launched Gram Ujala Scheme.
• The Gram Ujala Scheme is launched to offer the world’s cheapest LED bulbs in rural areas of the country at a cost of Rs 10 only.
• The first phase of the scheme was launched from Arrah in Bihar. During the first phase, 15 million LED bulbs will be distributed across villages of 5 states.
• In its first phase launched from Arrah in Bihar, 15 million LED bulbs will be distributed across villages of 5 districts - Aarah (Bihar), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Nagpur (Maharashtra), and villages in western Gujarat.
• The light-emitting diode (LED) is one of today's most energy-efficient and rapidly-developing lighting technologies.

Implementation

• 7 watt and 12-watt LED bulbs with 3 years warranty will be given to rural consumers against submission of working Incandescent bulbs.
• Each household will get up to 5 LEDs.
• Participating rural households will also have metres installed in their houses to account for usage.
• The LED bulbs are offered by state-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd’s (EESL’s) subsidiary Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL).
• EESL is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Power.
