• ஜல் சக்தி அபியான் (JSA) என்பது 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஜல் சக்தி அமைச்சகத்தால் தொடங்கப்பட்ட காலக்கெடு மற்றும் பணி முறை நீர் பாதுகாப்பு பிரச்சாரமாகும்.
• இது இந்திய அரசின் பல்வேறு அமைச்சகங்கள் மற்றும் மாநில அரசுகளின் கூட்டு முயற்சியின் மூலம், இந்தியாவின் மிகவும் தண்ணீர் பற்றாக்குறை உள்ள மாவட்டங்களில் நீர் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் நீர் பாதுகாப்பிற்கான பிரச்சாரமாகும்.
• நீர்ப்பாசனம் மற்றும் சிறந்த பயிர்த் தேர்வுகளுக்கான திறமையான நீர் பயன்பாட்டை ஊக்குவிக்க தொகுதி மற்றும் மாவட்ட நீர் பாதுகாப்புத் திட்டங்கள் மற்றும் 'கிருஷி விக்யான் கேந்திரா மேளாக்கள்' போன்ற முன்முயற்சிகளால் பாதுகாப்பு முயற்சிகள் துணைபுரியும்.

• ஜல் சக்தி அபியான், மழைநீர் சேகரிப்பு, நிலத்தடி நீர் ரீசார்ஜ் மற்றும் வீட்டுக் கழிவுநீரை மறுபயன்பாட்டிற்கு நிர்வகித்தல் ஆகியவற்றைப் பயன்படுத்தி ஆதார நிலைத்தன்மைக்கான உள்ளூர் உள்கட்டமைப்பை உருவாக்குவது உட்பட, உள்ளூர் மட்டத்தில் ஒருங்கிணைந்த தேவை மற்றும் விநியோக பக்க மேலாண்மையில் கவனம் செலுத்துகிறது.

• Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) is a time-bound and mission-mode water conservation campaign, launched by the Ministry of Jal Shakti in 2019.
• It is a campaign for water conservation and water security in India’s most water-stressed districts through a collaborative effort of various ministries of the Government of India and state governments.
• The conservation efforts will be supplemented by initiatives like developing block and district water conservation plans and 'Krishi Vigyan Kendra melas' to promote efficient water use for irrigation and better crop choices.
• Through Jal Shakti Abhiyan, the government plans to run water conservation, similar to the cleanliness drive i.e the Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan.
• Thus, it aims at making water conservation a Jan Andolan through asset creation and extensive communication.

Salient Features of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan

• Jal Shakti Abhiyan focuses on integrated demand and supply-side management of water at the local level, including the creation of local infrastructure for source sustainability using rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge and management of household wastewater for reuse.
