1st MAY - MAHARASHTRA DAY 2024 / மகாராஷ்டிரா தினம் 2024: மகாராஷ்டிரா தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மே 1 அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. சர்வதேச தொழிலாளர் தினத்தைத் தவிர, மே 1 மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலம் முழுவதும் மிகுந்த ஆர்வத்துடனும் உற்சாகத்துடனும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
இந்த நாள் மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலத்திற்கான வளமான பாரம்பரியத்தின் அடித்தளத்தை குறிக்கிறது. 1960 ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்த நாளில் மகாராஷ்டிரா மற்றும் குஜராத் தினம் என இரண்டு புதிய மாநிலங்கள் பிறந்தன. பம்பாய் தொடர்பாக இரு மாநிலங்களிலும் தகராறு ஏற்பட்டது.

1st MAY - MAHARASHTRA DAY 2024 / மகாராஷ்டிரா தினம் 2024: மராத்தி மொழி பேசும் பகுதிகளை உள்ளடக்கிய மாநிலங்கள் மறுசீரமைப்பு சட்டம், 1956 இயற்றப்பட்டதன் மூலம் 1 நவம்பர் 1956 அன்று பம்பாய் ஒரு புதிய மாநிலம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.
பம்பாய் மறுசீரமைப்புச் சட்டம், 1960 இன் படி இருமொழி மாநிலமான பம்பாய் மராத்தி பேசும் மக்களுக்காக மகாராஷ்டிரா மற்றும் குஜராத்தி மொழி பேசும் மக்களுக்கு குஜராத் என இரண்டு தனி மாநிலங்களாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டது, அங்கு குஜராத் இந்திய ஒன்றியத்தின் 15வது மாநிலமாக நிறுவப்பட்டது.

1st MAY - MAHARASHTRA DAY 2024: Maharashtra Day is celebrated on May 1 every year. Apart from International Labour Day May 1 is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm across the state of Maharashtra. This day marks the foundation of the rich legacy for the state of Maharashtra.
Two new states were born on this day of the year 1960 namely Maharashtra and Gujarat Day. There was a dispute over Bombay in both states. The Marathi people were of the opinion that Bombay should join them because most people there used to speak Marathi.
Why is Maharashtra Day celebrated on May 1?
1st MAY - MAHARASHTRA DAY 2024: In the year 1960, Maharashtra and Gujarat were carved out of the state of Bombay under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956. The state of Maharashtra came into existence on this day - 62 years ago - after major protests by Marathi speaking people for a separate state.

Maharashtra Day - History of the formation of two states
1st MAY - MAHARASHTRA DAY 2024: A new state Bombay was formed on 1 November 1956 with the enactment of the States Reorganization Act, 1956 comprising the Marathi-speaking areas.
According to the Bombay Reorganisation Act, 1960 the bilingual state of Bombay was divided into two separate states Maharashtra for Marathi-speaking people and Gujarat for Gujarati-speaking people where Gujarat was established as the 15th state of the Indian Union.

1st MAY - MAHARASHTRA DAY 2024: Maharashtra Day is also known as Maharashtra din or Maharashtra Diwas. It has a huge celebration with a parade at Shivaji Park, Dadar. Usually, various cultural events take place across Maharashtra.
From speeches to colorful parades, both the states celebrate this day with a lot of enthusiasm. On this day, the state government and private sector launch various new projects. But since the last year due to the covid-19 surge, the foundation day is observed simply only with ceremonies for unfurling the national flag organized at various district headquarters.
