INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY 2023 - 29th JULY: Every year, July 29 is celebrated globally as International Tiger Day that aims to draw worldwide attention towards conservation of this beautiful creature. Tigers are beautiful creatures that are killed and poached for monetary gain and right now there are less than 4000 tigers left in the world now.

Significance of International Tiger Day
INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY 2023 - 29th JULY: Tiger is the largest of the cat species find mostly in the continents of Asia and Africa. There were once tigers found in abundance but their population has now shrunk to less than 5% of what they used to be originally.
Due to illegal killing and habitat destruction, more than 95% tigers have gone extinct and the remaining 5% are endangered.

History of International Tiger Day
INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY 2023 - 29th JULY: At Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia, a resolution was adopted in 2010 with the aim to raise awareness about decline in number of tigers and to encourage activities towards their protection. The 13 tiger range countries came together and created Tx2 with the goal to double the number of tigers present, from 3200 to at least 6000.
