• ஜோகன்னஸ்பர்க்கில் ஆகஸ்ட் 22 முதல் 24 வரை நடைபெறும் 15வது பிரிக்ஸ் உச்சி மாநாட்டில் பங்கேற்பதற்காக, அந்நாட்டின் அதிபர் மதமேலா சிரில் ரமபோசாவின் அழைப்பின் பேரில் பிரதமர் மோடி செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை முன்னதாக தென்னாப்பிரிக்கா சென்றடைந்தார். 
• பிரதமர் மோடியை தென்னாப்பிரிக்க அதிபர் சிரில் ரமபோசா வரவேற்றார். தென்னாப்பிரிக்காவின் சிரில் ராமபோசா, பிரேசில் அதிபர் லூயிஸ் இனாசியோ லுலா டா சில்வா மற்றும் இந்திய பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி ஆகியோர் கலந்து கொண்ட போதிலும், சீன அதிபர் ஜி ஜிங்பிங் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் பங்கேற்கவில்லை. இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் ரஷ்ய வெளியுறவு அமைச்சர் செர்ஜி லாவ்ரோவ் கலந்து கொண்டார்.
• பிரதமர் மோடியின் தென்னாப்பிரிக்காவிற்கு இது மூன்றாவது பயணம் ஆகும், மேலும் இந்த பயணம் இந்தியா மற்றும் தென்னாப்பிரிக்கா இடையேயான தூதரக உறவின் 30 வது ஆண்டு நிறைவைக் குறிக்கிறது. 
• 2023 ஆண்டு BRICS தென்னாப்பிரிக்காவின் தலைமையின் கீழ் உள்ளது. 
• 2023 ஆண்டு உச்சிமாநாட்டின் கருப்பொருள்: "பிரிக்ஸ் மற்றும் ஆப்பிரிக்கா: பரஸ்பர வேகமான வளர்ச்சி, நிலையான வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் உள்ளடக்கிய பலதரப்புக்கான கூட்டு" என்பதாகும்.

• Prime Minister Modi arrived in South Africa earlier on Tuesday at the invitation of the country's President Madamela Cyril Ramaphosa to attend the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg from August 22 to 24.
• South African President Cyril Ramaphosa welcomed Prime Minister Modi. Although South Africa's Cyril Ramaphosa, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi were present, Chinese President Xi Jinping did not attend the event. The event was attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
• This is Prime Minister Modi's third visit to South Africa and marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and South Africa.
• 2023 BRICS is under the leadership of South Africa. The theme of the 2023 Annual Summit is: “BRICS and Africa: Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development and Inclusive Multilateralism”.
