கடற்படைக்கான 5 ஆதரவுக் கப்பல்களை வாங்க இந்துஸ்தான் ஷிப்யார்ட் லிமிடெட் நிறுவனத்துடன் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சகம் ரூ. 19,000 கோடி ஒப்பந்தம் / The Ministry of Defense has entered into an agreement with Hindustan Shipyard Ltd to procure 5 support vessels for the Navy at a cost of Rs. 19,000 crore deal

• இந்துஸ்தான் ஷிப்யார்ட் லிமிடெட் (ஹெச்.எஸ்.எல்) நிறுவனத்துடன் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சகம் புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் ஒன்றில் இன்று (25-08-2023) கையெழுத்திட்டுள்ளது. 
• இந்திய கடற்படைக்கு ஐந்து கடற்படை ஆதரவுக் கப்பல்களை (எஃப்.எஸ்.எஸ்) வாங்குவது தொடர்பாக இந்த ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்திடப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
• இந்த ஒப்பந்த்த்தின் மொத்த மதிப்பு ரூ. 19,000 கோடி ஆகும். இந்த கப்பல்கள் விசாகப்பட்டினத்தில் உள்ள ஹெச்.எஸ்.எல் நிறுவனத்தால் உள்நாட்டிலேயே வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு கட்டப்படுவதால், பாதுகாப்பு உற்பத்தியில் தற்சார்பு இலக்கை அடைவதற்கு இது ஒரு பெரிய ஊக்க சக்தியாக இருக்கும்.  
• பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கான அமைச்சரவைக் குழு 26-08-2023 அன்று நடந்தகூட்டத்தில் இந்த கப்பல்களை வாங்க ஒப்புதல் அளித்தது. கடலில் உள்ள கடற்படை போர்க் கப்பல்களுக்கு எரிபொருள், நீர், வெடிமருந்துகள் போன்றவற்றைக் கொண்டு சென்று வழங்க இந்த எஃப்.எஸ்.எஸ் எனப்படும் ஆதரவுக் கப்பல்கள் பயன்படுத்தப்படும். 
• இது இந்திய கடற்படை துறைமுகத்திற்கு வராமல் நீண்ட காலத்திற்கு கடலில் செயல்பட உதவும். இந்த ஆதரவுக் கப்பல்கள் கடற்படையின் செயல்பாட்டை மேம்படுத்தும். இந்த கப்பல்களை கடற்படையில் இணைப்பது, இந்திய கடற்படையின் திறனை கணிசமாக அதிகரிக்கும். 
• இயற்கைப் பேரிடர் காலங்களில் மக்களை வெளியேற்றுவதற்கும், உதவி மற்றும் பேரிடர் நிவாரண (எச்.ஏ.டி.ஆர்) நடவடிக்கைகளுக்கும் இந்த கப்பல்களைப் பயன்படுத்த முடியும்.

• Ministry of Defense has today (25-08-2023) signed an MoU with Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL). The agreement was signed for the purchase of five Fleet Support Ships (FSS) for the Indian Navy.
• The total value of this contract is Rs. 19,000 crores. As these vessels will be designed and built indigenously by HSL in Visakhapatnam, this will be a major boost to achieving the goal of self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
• The Cabinet Committee on Defense approved the purchase of these vessels in its meeting held on 26-08-2023. These support ships known as FSS will be used to transport and supply fuel, water and ammunition to naval warships at sea.
• This will enable the Indian Navy to operate at sea for extended periods of time without coming to port. These support ships will enhance the operational capabilities of the fleet. Incorporating these ships into the fleet will significantly increase the capability of the Indian Navy.
• These ships can be used to evacuate people during natural calamities and for aid and disaster relief (HADR) operations.
