WORLD SENIOR CITIZEN DAY 2023 - 21ST AUGUST / உலக மூத்த குடிமக்கள் தினம் 2023: உலக முதியோர் தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஆகஸ்ட் 21 அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இது முதன்முறையாக 1990 டிசம்பர் 14 அன்று ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொதுச் சபையால் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

மூத்த குடிமக்கள் பொதுவாக தங்கள் குழந்தைகளுக்காக நிறைய செய்கிறார்கள் மற்றும் அவர்களின் முயற்சிகளுக்காக ஒருபோதும் பாராட்டப்படவில்லை.

WORLD SENIOR CITIZEN DAY 2023 - 21ST AUGUST / உலக மூத்த குடிமக்கள் தினம் 2023: ஆகஸ்ட் 19, 1988 அன்று, ஜனாதிபதி ரொனால்ட் ரீகன் நமது நாட்டிற்கு மூத்தவர்களின் பங்களிப்பை அங்கீகரிக்க ஆகஸ்ட் 21 ஐ தேசிய முதியோர் தினமாக நியமித்து ஜனாதிபதி அறிக்கையை வெளியிட்டார். 

நாட்டிற்கு அவர் ஆற்றிய உரையில், வயதான அமெரிக்கர்களை நாம் ஏன் கொண்டாட வேண்டும் என்பதற்கான அனைத்து காரணங்களையும் அவர் கூறினார். 

எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக, பெரும் மந்தநிலை மற்றும் இரண்டு உலகப் போர்களின் மூலம் வாழ்ந்த தலைமுறையைப் பற்றி அவர் பேசினார்.

It was proclaimed for the first time on 14 December 1990 by the United Nations General Assembly. The day is celebrated to raise awareness of factors and issues affecting older adults and the prevention of abuse.

Why is World Senior Citizens Day Celebrated?

WORLD SENIOR CITIZEN DAY 2023 - 21ST AUGUST: The main purpose of celebrating World Seniors Day is to raise awareness and help the health of the elderly. The reason for celebrating this day is to thank the elders. Senior citizens generally do a lot for their children and have never been appreciated for their efforts.

Throughout their lives, many sacrifices are made to nurture their relationships. They have always been sensitive, protective and altruistic towards their children. For this, they need recognition and appreciation. Therefore, this day is celebrated.

History of World Senior Citizens Day

WORLD SENIOR CITIZEN DAY 2023 - 21ST AUGUST: On August 19, 1988, President Ronald Reagan issued a presidential statement appointing August 21 as National Seniors Day to recognize the contributions of seniors to our country. 

In his speech to the nation, he gave all the reasons why we should celebrate older Americans. After all, he spoke of the generation that lived through the Great Depression, and the two world wars and virtually built the American economy.
