அக்.31 உலக நகரங்கள் தினமாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. அதனையொட்டி இந்த அறிவிப்பை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது, ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் கல்வி, அறிவியல் மற்றும் பண்பாட்டு அமைப்பான யுனெஸ்கோ. 

கேரளத்தில் உள்ள கோழிக்கோடும் மத்திய பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள குவாலியரும் இந்தப் பட்டியலில் இணைகின்றன. கலாச்சாரம், படைபூக்கம் மற்றும் புத்தாக்க நகர மேம்பாட்டுக்கான அங்கீகாரமாக உலகம் முழுவதுமிருந்து 55 நகரங்களை இந்தப் பட்டியலில் புதிதாக சேர்த்துள்ளது யுனெஸ்கோ.

கோழிக்கோட்டுக்கு இலக்கிய நகரம் என்கிற அங்கீகாரத்தை வழங்கியுள்ளது. கேரள இலக்கிய விழா மற்றும் புத்தக வெளியீடுகள் தொடர்ச்சியாக அங்கு நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன.

குவாலியருக்கு, இசைக்கான நகரம் என்கிற அங்கீகாரத்தை யுனெஸ்கோ வழங்கியுள்ளது. இந்தியாவின் பழமையான ஹிந்துஸ்தானி இசை, நாட்டுப்புற இசை மற்றும் பக்தி இசையில் குவாலியர், தனித்துவமான கலாச்சாரத்தையும் பன்முகத்தன்மையையும் கொண்டுள்ளது.

மேலும், மொரோக்கோ நாட்டின் காசாபிளாங்கா, நேபாளின் காத்மாண்டு பிரேசிலின் ரியோ டி ஜெனீரோ உள்ளிட்ட 55 நகரங்கள் இந்த வலைப்பின்னலில் புதிதாக இணைகின்றன.

ஐக்கிய படைப்பூக்க நகரங்களுக்கான வலைப்பின்னலின் (யுசிசிஎன்) கருத்தரங்கத்தில் கலந்து கொள்ள இந்த நகரங்களுக்கு அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்படும். 2024-ம் ஆண்டு ஜூலையில் போர்ச்சுகலில் இந்தக் கருத்தரங்கம் நடைபெறவுள்ளது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது,

October 31 is celebrated as World Cities Day. The announcement was made by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Kozhikode in Kerala and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh join the list. 

UNESCO has added 55 new cities from around the world to this list in recognition of culture, creativity and innovative urban development. Kozhikode has been recognized as a city of literature. Kerala Literary Festival and Book Releases are regularly held there.

Gwalior has been recognized as a City of Music by UNESCO. Gwalior has a unique culture and diversity in India's oldest Hindustani music, folk music and devotional music. Also, 55 cities including Casablanca in Morocco, Kathmandu in Nepal and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil are joining the network.

These cities will be invited to participate in the United Creative Cities Network (UCCN) seminar. It is noteworthy that this seminar will be held in July 2024 in Portugal.
