INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ABOLITION OF SLAVERY 2023 - 2ND DECEMBER / அடிமைத்தனத்தை ஒழிப்பதற்கான சர்வதேச தினம் 2023 - டிசம்பர் 2: அடிமைத்தனத்தை ஒழிப்பதற்கான சர்வதேச தினம் 1986 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் டிசம்பர் 2 ஆம் தேதி உலகம் முழுவதும் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. 

இந்த நாளின் கவனம் அடிமைத்தனம் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதும், இன்றைய உலகில் இருக்கும் அனைத்து வகையான அடிமைத்தனங்களுக்கு முற்றுப்புள்ளி வைப்பதும் ஆகும். 

ஆள் கடத்தல், பாலியல் சுரண்டல், குழந்தை தொழிலாளர்களின் மோசமான வடிவங்கள், கட்டாய திருமணம் மற்றும் ஆயுத மோதலில் பயன்படுத்த குழந்தைகளை கட்டாயமாக ஆட்சேர்ப்பு செய்தல் போன்றவை.

இதுவரை உலகம் பாரிய முன்னேற்றம் கண்டிருந்தாலும் அடிமைத்தனத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் ஏராளமாக உள்ளனர். சர்வதேச தொழிலாளர் அமைப்பின் (ILO) கூற்றுப்படி, உலகளவில் 40 மில்லியனுக்கும் அதிகமான மக்கள் நவீன அடிமைத்தனத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். 

மேலும் 150 மில்லியனுக்கும் அதிகமான குழந்தைகள் குழந்தைத் தொழிலாளர்களுக்கு உட்பட்டுள்ளனர், உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள பத்தில் ஒரு குழந்தை.

ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் கூற்றுப்படி, பெண்கள் மற்றும் சிறுமிகள் கட்டாய உழைப்பால் விகிதாச்சாரத்தில் பாதிக்கப்படுகின்றனர், இது வணிக பாலியல் துறையில் 99% மற்றும் பிற துறைகளில் 58% பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ABOLITION OF SLAVERY 2023 - 2ND DECEMBER / அடிமைத்தனத்தை ஒழிப்பதற்கான சர்வதேச தினம் 2023 - டிசம்பர் 2: The international day for the abolition of slavery is observed every year on December 2, all over the world since 1986. The focus of this day is to raise awareness about slavery and put an end to all kinds of slavery existing in the present-day world such as trafficking in persons, sexual exploitation, the worst forms of child labour, forced marriage, and the forced recruitment of children for use in armed conflict.

Till now the world has made massive progress still there are a large number of people who are victims of slavery. According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), more than 40 million people worldwide are victims of modern slavery. 

And more than 150 million children are subject to child labour, accounting for almost one in ten children around the world. According to the UN, women and girls are disproportionately affected by forced labour, accounting for 99% of victims in the commercial sex industry, and 58% in other sectors.

History

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ABOLITION OF SLAVERY 2023 - 2ND DECEMBER / அடிமைத்தனத்தை ஒழிப்பதற்கான சர்வதேச தினம் 2023 - டிசம்பர் 2: December 2, marks the date of the adoption by the General Assembly of the United Nations Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of Others (resolution 317(IV) of 2 December 1949).

The main objective of this day is to eradicate contemporary forms of slavery, such as trafficking in persons, sexual exploitation, the worst forms of child labour, forced marriage, and the forced recruitment of children for use in armed conflict.
