WORLD SOIL DAY 2023 - 5TH DECEMBER / உலக மண் தினம் 2023 - டிசம்பர் 5: மண் வளத்தை நிலையாக நிர்வகித்தல் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்த ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் டிசம்பர் 5ஆம் தேதி உலக மண் தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. 

இந்த நாள் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையால் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டு உலகம் முழுவதும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்தியாவில், இந்திய வேளாண் ஆராய்ச்சி கவுன்சில் உலக மண் தினத்தை கொண்டாடுவதற்கு பொறுப்பாக உள்ளது.

மண் ஒருவேளை மிகவும் குறைவாக மதிப்பிடப்பட்ட இயற்கை வளங்களில் ஒன்றாகும். எங்களுக்கு ஊட்டச்சத்து, தங்குமிடம் மற்றும் பலவற்றை வழங்குவதற்கு இது பொறுப்பு.

உலக மண் தினத்தின் வரலாறு

WORLD SOIL DAY 2023 - 5TH DECEMBER / உலக மண் தினம் 2023 - டிசம்பர் 5: ஜூன் 2013 இல், FAO மாநாடு உலக மண் தினத்தை ஒருமனதாக ஆதரித்தது மற்றும் 68வது ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொதுச் சபையில் அதன் அதிகாரப்பூர்வ ஒப்புதலை முன்மொழிந்தது. 

பூமி நமக்குக் கொடுத்த வளங்களில் மிக முக்கியமான ஒன்று மண். சமீபத்திய ஆண்டுகளில், மண்ணின் தரம் குறைந்து, விவசாய நடவடிக்கைகளை கடினமாக்குகிறது. எனவே, மண்ணைப் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வைப் பரப்பவும், அதை ஆரோக்கியமாக வைத்திருக்க என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதை உலக மண் தினமாகக் கொண்டாடுவது முக்கியம்.

2002 ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்தப் பரிந்துரை செய்யப்பட்டது. தாய்லாந்தின் தலைமைத்துவத்தின் கீழ், உணவு மற்றும் வேளாண்மை அமைப்பு (FAO) மண் தினத்தின் முறையான அடித்தளத்தை விழிப்புணர்வு-உயர்வு நாளாக ஆதரித்தது, இது உலகளாவிய மண் கூட்டாண்மையின் நோக்கத்தில் வருகிறது. 

இந்த நாளில், மண் பாதுகாப்பின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு மக்களிடையே பரப்பப்படுகிறது. மண் என்பது மனிதர்களுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, மற்ற உயிரினங்களுக்கும் வீடு மற்றும் வளமாகும். உலக மண் தினத்தன்று, இந்த விழிப்புணர்வும் பரப்பப்படுகிறது.

WORLD SOIL DAY 2023 - 5TH DECEMBER: World Soil Day is celebrated every year on 5th December to raise awareness about sustainably managing soil resources. This day is recognized by the United Nations and is celebrated worldwide. 

In India, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research is responsible for conducting a celebration of World Soil Day. Soil is perhaps one of the most underrated natural resources. It is responsible for providing us with nutrition, shelter, and so much more.

History of World Soil Day

WORLD SOIL DAY 2023 - 5TH DECEMBER: In June 2013, the FAO conference unanimously backed World Soil Day and proposed its official ratification at the 68th United Nations General Assembly. Soil is one of the most important resources that the earth has given us. 

In recent years, the quality of the soil has degraded, and it is making agricultural activities difficult. Therefore, it is important to celebrate World Soil Day to spread awareness about the soil and what it takes to keep it healthy.

At its 68th session in December 2013, the United Nations General Assembly declared 5th December to be World Soil Day. On the 5th December 2014, the first World Soil Day was observed. 5th December was chosen to celebrate World Soil Day as it marks the birth anniversary of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej. This person was behind the inception of this day.

World Soil Day Significance

WORLD SOIL DAY 2023 - 5TH DECEMBER: On the 5th December 2014, the first official World Soil Day was celebrated by the UN General assembly. The International Union of Soil Sciences recommended the celebration of this day. The recommendation was made in 2002. 

Under the Kingdom of Thailand's Leadership, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) supported the formal foundation of Soil Day as a awareness-raising day, which falls in the scope of the Global Soil Partnership. 

• On this day, awareness about the importance of soil conservation is spread among people.
• Soil is not only a resource for humans but is also a home and resource for other living things. On World Soil Day, this awareness is also spread.
• Soil Day highlights the significance of sustainably managing soil as a resource.

WORLD SOIL DAY 2023 - 5TH DECEMBER: Two important awards are given out to people on World Soil Day. These awards are:

1. The King Bhumibol World Soil Day Award is given out to an individual, a country, or any organization that organizes the best and the most exciting activities on World Soil Day for people to enjoy. The award is based on last year's performance.
2. The Glinka World Soil Prize award is presented to some change-makers who come up with innovative solutions to one of the most pressing problems on the earth- Soil Degradation. People who contribute significantly to soil management are honoured and awarded on Soil Day.
