சமூக மேம்பாட்டிற்காகவும், விளிம்பு நிலை மக்களின் மேம்பாட்டிற்காகவும் பங்காற்றி வரும் சிறந்த இதழியலாளர் ஒருவருக்கு ஆண்டுதோறும், ' கலைஞர் எழுதுகோல் விருது' மற்றும் ரூ.5 இலட்சம் பரிசுத் தொகையுடன் பாராட்டுச் சான்றிதழும் வழங்கப்படும் என முதலமைச்சர் மு.க ஸ்டாலின் அறிவித்தார்.

அந்த அறிவிப்பினைச் செயல்படுத்தும் வகையில், 2021ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான கலைஞர் எழுதுகோல் விருது மூத்த பத்திரிகையாளர் ஐ.சண்முகநாதன் அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது. 

தமிழ் இதழியல் துறை மூலம் சமூக மேம்பாட்டிற்காகப் பல ஆண்டுகள் பணியாற்றிப் பெற்றுள்ள நீண்ட அனுபவங்களையும், தமிழ் இலக்கிய உலகுக்கு ஆற்றியுள்ள அருந் தொண்டுகளையும் பாராட்டி 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான கலைஞர் எழுதுகோல் விருது மூத்த பத்திரிகையாளர் வி.என்.சாமி அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் என்று முதலமைச்சர் திரு.மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார்.

இந்த விருதானது ரூ.5 இலட்சம் ரூபாய் பரிசுத் தொகையையும் பாராட்டுச் சான்றிதழையும் கொண்டுள்ளது. வி.என்.சாமி பத்திரிகைத் துறையில் 50 ஆண்டுகளுக்குமேல் பணியாற்றி முதிர்ந்த அனுபவம் பெற்றவர். 

இவர் மதுரை வில்லாபுரத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர். 9-6-1931 அன்று பிறந்தவர்: 92 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைந்தவர். இளமையில் தந்தை பெரியார் அவர்களின் உதவியாளராகத் திகழ்ந்தவர்.

தமிழ்நாடு, சுதேசமித்திரன் ஆகிய இதழ்களில் பணியாற்றியபின் 1968-இல் தினமணி நாளிதழில் சேர்ந்து 20 ஆண்டுகள் பணியாற்றி, தலைமைச் செய்தியாளராக உயர்ந்து 1989ஆம் ஆண்டில் பணி ஓய்வு பெற்றுள்ளார். 

பல்வேறு நூல்களைப் படைத்துள்ள வி.என்.சாமி அவர்கள் எழுதிய 'புகழ்பெற்ற கடற்போர்கள்' என்னும் நூல் தஞ்சைத் தமிழ்ப் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தின் மாமன்னன் ராஜராஜன் விருது பெற்றது. 

இந்நூலுக்கு அணிந்துரை வழங்கிய அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் முன்னாள் துணைவேந்தர் டாக்டர் வா.செ.குழந்தைசாமி அவர்கள் தமிழ்நாட்டின் வால்ட்விட்மன் என்று வி.என்.சாமி அவர்களைப் பாராட்டியுள்ளார் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Chief Minister M. K. Stalin announced that an outstanding journalist who has contributed towards social development and the upliftment of the marginalized would be awarded the 'Kalaignar Eluthukol Award' and a certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh annually.

In order to implement that announcement, Senior Journalist I. Shanmuganathan was awarded Kalaignar Eluthukol Award for the year 2021. 

Chief Minister Mr. M. K. Stalin has ordered that Senior Journalist VN Samy will be awarded the Kalaignar Eluthukol Award for the year 2022 in recognition of his many years of experience working for social development through the Tamil Journalism Department and his contributions to the world of Tamil literature.

The award carries a prize money of Rs.5 lakh and a certificate of appreciation. VN Samy has a mature experience of over 50 years in the field of journalism. He is from Madurai.  Belongs to Villapuram. Born on 9-6-1931: Aged 92 years. Father Periyar was his assistant in his youth.

After working in Tamil Nadu and Sudeshamithran magazines, he joined Dinamani newspaper in 1968 and worked for 20 years, rose to become chief reporter and retired in 1989. The book 'Famous Marines' written by VN Samy, author of various books, of Thanjavur Tamil University.

Mamannan Rajarajan Award. It is worth noting that the former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Dr. V. S. Kulanthasamy, who gave a review for this book, praised VN Samy as the Walt Whitman of Tamil Nadu.
