BOOKER PRIZE 2025 / புக்கர் பரிசு 2025: பிரபல கன்னட எழுத்தாளரான பானு முஷ்டாக் எழுதிய 'ஹசீன் அண்ட் அதர் ஸ்டோரிஸ்' என்ற புத்தகத்தின் மொழிப்பெயர்ப்பு பதிப்பான 'ஹார்ட் லேம்ப்' நிகழாண்டுக்கான புக்கர் பரிசை வென்றுள்ளது.

இதன்மூலம், சர்வதேச புக்கர் பரிசை வென்ற முதல் கன்னட பெண் எழுத்தாளர் என்ற பெருமையை பானு முஷ்டாக் பெற்றுள்ளார். 

எழுத்தாளர், சமூக ஆர்வலர் மற்றும் வழக்குரைஞர் என பன்முகத்தன்மை கொண்டவரான பானு முஷ்டாக் கன்னடத்தில் எழுதிய 'ஹசீன் அண்ட் அதர் ஸ்டோரிஸ்' என்ற புத்தகத்தை, பத்திரிகையாளரான தீபா பாஸ்தி என்பவர், ஆங்கிலத்தில் மொழி பெயர்த்து 'ஹார்ட் லேம்ப்' என வெளியிட்டார்.

இப்புத்தகத்தில் தென்னிந்தியாவில் வாழும் முஸ்லீம் பெண்களின் அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையில் சந்திக்கும் பிரச்சினைகளை புத்திசாலித்தனத்துடனும், நிதானத்துடனும் 1990 முதல் 2023 வரை 30 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாக 30 ஆண்டுகள் எழுதிய 12 சிறுகதைகளின் தொகுப்பான 'ஹார்ட் லேம்ப்' சர்வதேச புக்கர் விருதை வென்று அசத்தியுள்ளது.

நடப்பாண்டு புக்கர் பரிசு பட்டியலில் இவரின் 'ஹார்ட் லேம்ப்' என்ற புத்தகத்துடன் சேர்த்து மொத்தம் 6 புத்தகங்கள் போட்டியில் இருந்தன. தற்போது அவரின் 'ஹார்ட் லேம்ப்' புத்தகம் புக்கர் பரிசுக்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இதன் மூலம் எழுத்தாளர் பானுவுக்கும், மொழிபெயர்ப்பாளர் தீபா பாஸ்திக்கும் பரிசுத்தொகையான 50,000 யூரோ (இந்திய மதிப்பில் ரூ.48 லட்சம்) சமமாக பகிர்ந்தளிக்கப்படும்.

இதற்கு முன்னதாக, 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டில், கீதாஞ்சலிஸ்ரீ மற்றும் மொழிபெயர்ப்பாளர் டெய்சி ராக்வெல் ஆகியோரின் ஹிந்தி நாவலான 'டோம்ப் ஆஃப் சாண்ட்' இந்தியா சார்பில் முதலாவது புக்கர் பரிசை வென்றிருந்தது நினைவுகூரத்தக்கது.

BOOKER PRIZE 2025: 'Hard Lamb', a translation of the book 'Haseen and Other Stories' by renowned Kannada writer Banu Mushtaq, has won this year's Booker Prize. With this, Banu Mushtaq has become the first Kannada woman writer to win the International Booker Prize.

The book 'Haseen and Other Stories' written in Kannada by Banu Mushtaq, a multi-faceted writer, social activist and lawyer, was translated into English by journalist Deepa Basti and published as 'Hard Lamb'.

In this book, 'Hard Lamb', a collection of 12 short stories written over a period of 30 years, from 1990 to 2023, intelligently and calmly addresses the problems faced by Muslim women living in South India in their daily lives, has won the International Booker Prize.

This year, a total of 6 books were in the running for the Booker Prize, including his book 'Hard Lamb'. Now, his book 'Hard Lamb' has been selected for the Booker Prize. With this, the prize money of 50,000 euros (Rs. 48 lakhs in Indian currency) will be shared equally between the author Bhanu and the translator Deepa Basti.

It is worth remembering that earlier in 2022, the Hindi novel 'Tomb of Sand' by Gitanjali Sri and translator Daisy Rockwell won the first Booker Prize from India.
