• 2004-05ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஒரு குவின்டால் சணல் ரூ. 890க்கு விற்கப்பட்டது. 
• ஆனால் 2004-05 இல் இது 1250 ஆக அதிகரித்துள்ளது. தேவையைப் போதுமான அளவு சமாளிக்க சர்க்கரை மற்றும் தானியங்களுக்கான பாக்கெட்டுகள் அதிகமாக உருவாக்கப்படுகின்றன. 
• முதன் முறையாக சணல் விளைப்போரின் நலனை பாதுகாக்கவும், சணலுக்கான தேவையை அதிகரிக்கவும், செறிவான தேசியச் சணல் நார் திட்டமொன்று (Comprehensive National Jute Policy) உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
• இந்திய சணல் கழக (Jute corporation of India) மறு சீரமைப்பு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. சணல் தொழில்நுட்பக் குழு (Jute Technology Mission) ஒன்று சணல் தொழிலின் மேம்படுத்துதலுக்காக ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
• சணல் உற்பத்தியிலுள்ளப் பல்வேறு சணல் நிறுவனங்களின் செயல்பாடுகளை ஒன்றிணைக்கத் தேசிய சணல் ஆணையம் (National Jute Board) உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.

• In 2004-05, a quintal of jute was Rs. 890 sold. But in 2004-05 it increased to 1250. Packets for sugar and grains are made more to meet the demand adequately. 
• For the first time, a Comprehensive National Jute Policy has been developed to protect the interests of jute growers and increase the demand for jute. 
• Restructuring of the Jute Corporation of India was carried out. A Jute Technology Mission has been set up for the development of jute industry. 
• National Jute Board was formed to coordinate the activities of various jute companies in jute production.
