• ஒகேனக்கல் கூட்டு குடிநீர்த் திட்டம் என்பது தமிழக மக்களின் குறிப்பாக தர்மபுரி - கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்ட மக்களின் குடிநீர் பிரச்சனையை தீர்க்க தமிழக அரசு முன்வைத்த ஒரு திட்டமாகும். 
• இத்திட்டத்திற்கான மொத்தச் செலவாக நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள 13.34 பில்லியன் ரூபாய்களில் 12.4 பில்லியன் ரூபாய்களை ஜப்பானின் பன்னாட்டு கூட்டுறவு வங்கி வழங்க இருக்கிறது. 
• மீதமான செலவை தமிழ்நாடு அரசு பொறுப்பேற்கும். இத்திட்டத்திற்கான அடிக்கல்லை தர்மபுரி, ஒகேனக்கலில் பெப்ரவரி 26, 2008 இல் தமிழக முதலமைச்சர் மு. கருணாநிதி நாட்டினார். 
• இத்திட்டத்தினால் மூன்று நகராட்சிகளில் உள்ள 6,755 குடிமனைகள், 17 ஊராட்சிகள், மற்றும் 18 பேரூராட்சிகளில் உள்ள கிட்டத்தட்ட மூன்று மில்லியன் மக்கள் பயனடைவர் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. 
• மேலும் இத் திட்டத்தின் மூலம் தர்மபுரி, கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்டங்களில் நீரில் புளோரைடு அதிகமாக இருப்பதை குறைத்து நீர் தூய்மைபடுத்தப்பட்டு மக்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படும்.

• Okenakal Joint Drinking Water Project is a project proposed by the Government of Tamil Nadu to solve the drinking water problem of the people of Tamil Nadu, especially the people of Dharmapuri-Krishnagiri district. 
• The International Cooperative Bank of Japan will provide 12.4 billion rupees out of the total cost of 13.34 billion rupees for the project. The remaining cost will be borne by the Tamil Nadu government. 
• The foundation stone for this project was laid by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on February 26, 2008 at Dharmapuri, Okanagan. Nearly three million people in 6,755 villages in three municipalities, 17 panchayats, and 18 sub-districts are expected to benefit from the scheme. 
• Also, through this project, water will be purified and supplied to the people in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts by reducing the fluoride content in the water.
