• 1929-ம் ஆண்டுச் செங்கற்பட்டில் நடைபெற்ற சுயமரியாதை மாநாட்டில் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட தீர்மானத்தை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு பெற்றோர் சொத்தில் பெண்களுக்குச் சம உரிமை வழங்கும் தனிச் சட்டத்தை, 1989-ம் ஆண்டு மே மாதம் 6-ம் நாள், நாட்டுக்கே முன்னோடி மாநிலமாகத் தமிழகச் சட்டமன்றத்தில் தி.மு.க அரசு நிறைவேற்றியது.

• On 6th May 1989, the DMK government passed a separate law in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly as a pioneer for the country, based on the resolution passed at the Self-Respect Conference held in Chengalpat in 1929.
