- அமெரிக்கா, சீனா, பிரேசில் ஆகிய நாடுகளுக்கு அடுத்தபடியாக தாவர எண்ணெய் பொருளாதாரத்தில் இந்தியா நான்காவது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.
- இன்று, எண்ணெய் வித்துக்கள் நாட்டில் 13% பயிரிடப்படுகிறது.
- இன்னும், உலகிலேயே அதிக பாமாயிலை இறக்குமதி செய்யும் நாடு இந்தியாதான்.
- 2019-20 ஆம் ஆண்டில் நாட்டின் மொத்த எண்ணெய் வித்துக்கள் உற்பத்தி 34.19 மில்லியன் டன்களாக மதிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது, இது 2018-19 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 31.52 மில்லியன் டன்கள் உற்பத்தியை விட 2.67 மில்லியன் டன்கள் அதிகமாகும்.
- மேலும், 2019-20ல் எண்ணெய் வித்துக்களின் உற்பத்தி சராசரி எண்ணெய் வித்துக்கள் உற்பத்தியை விட 4.54 மில்லியன் டன்கள் அதிகமாகும்.

- Today, the oilseeds account for 13% of the cropped area in the country.
- Still, India is the largest importer of palm oil in the world.
- Total Oilseeds production in the country during 2019-20 is estimated at 34.19 million tonnes which is higher by 2.67 million tonnes than the production of 31.52 million tonnes during 2018-19.
- Further, the production of oilseeds during 2019-20 is higher by 4.54 million tonnes than the average oilseeds production.
