He is considered a true patriot, who spearheaded the country’s first war of independence and fought alongside Mughal Emperor Akbar at the battle of Haldighati.
Though Maharana Pratap was eventually forced to flee the battlefield, he managed to slay a significant number of his opponents, earning immense admiration for his bravery. Every year, his birth anniversary falls on the third day of the Jyeshtha Shukla phase of the Hindu calendar, celebrated as Maharana Pratap Jayanti.
In January 1597, Maharana Pratap was severely wounded in a hunting accident and passed away at the age of 56, fighting for his country, his people, and his pride.
