3ஆவது இந்திய பசிபிக் தீவுநாடுகள் கூட்டமைப்பின் மாநாட்டில், கூக் தீவுகள், பிஜி, கிரிபாடி, மார்ஷல் தீவுகள் குடியரசு, மைக்ரோனேசியா, நவுரு, நியு, பலாவ், பப்புவா நியூ கினி, சமோவா, சாலமன் தீவுகள், டோங்கா, துவாலு, வனுவாட்டு ஆகிய 14 பசிபிக் தீவு நாடுகளின் பிரதிநிதிகள் பங்கேற்றனர்.
இதில், சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக பங்கேற்று உரையாற்றிய பிரதமர் மோடி, காலநிலை மாற்றம், வறுமை, பசி, இயற்கை பேரிடர்கள் என உலகம் முழுவதும் சவால்கள் நிறைந்திருப்பதாகவும், எரிபொருள், உணவு, உரம், மருந்து உள்ளிட்ட துறைகளில் பரவலான விநியோகம் இந்தியாவுக்கு இருப்பதாகவும் கூறினார்.
அவரை தொடர்ந்து மாநாட்டில் உரையாற்றிய பப்புவா நியூ கினி பிரதமர் ஜேம்ஸ் மராப்பே, பிரதமர் மோடியை, பசிபிக் தீவு நாடுகளின் தலைவராக கருதுவதாகவும், சர்வதேச அரங்கில் இந்தியாவின் தலைமைக்கு பின்னால் அணி திரள்வதாகவும் கூறினார்.

The representatives of 14 Pacific Island countries namely Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Republic of Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu participated in the 3rd Indo-Pacific Islands Conference.
Speaking as a special guest, Prime Minister Modi said that the world is full of challenges such as climate change, poverty, hunger, and natural disasters, and India has a wide range of supplies in the fields of fuel, food, fertilizer, and medicine.
He said that he considered Prime Minister Modi as the leader of the Pacific Island nations and rallied behind India's leadership in the international arena.
