15th JULY - WORLD YOUNG SKILLS DAY 2023 / ஜூலை 15 - உலக இளைஞர் திறன் தினம் 2023: உலக இளைஞர் திறன் தினம் என்பது ஆண்டுதோறும் ஜூலை 15 ஆம் தேதி கொண்டாடப்படும் ஒரு சர்வதேச அனுசரிப்பு ஆகும்.
ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொதுச் சபை (UNGA) 2014 நவம்பரில் இளைஞர் திறன் மேம்பாட்டில் முதலீடு செய்வதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்துரைக்க இந்த நாளை அறிவித்தது.
உலக இளைஞர் திறன்கள் தினம் இளைஞர்களை வேலைவாய்ப்பு, தொழில்முனைவு மற்றும் சுயதொழில் ஆகியவற்றிற்கான திறன்களுடன் சித்தப்படுத்துவதன் அவசியத்தைப் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
இளைஞர் திறன் மேம்பாடு தொடர்பான சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்ளவும் வாய்ப்புகளைப் பயன்படுத்தவும் UNGA வின் உறுப்பு நாடுகளை ஊக்குவிக்க இந்த நாள் முயல்கிறது.
உலக இளைஞர்கள் திறன் மேம்பட வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தை உணர்ந்து, ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொதுச் சபை 2014 ஆம் ஆண்டு உலக இளைஞர் திறன் தினத்தை நிறுவியது.
அன்றிலிருந்து ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜூலை 15 ஆம் தேதி இளைஞர் திறன் தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இளைஞர்கள் திறமையை வளர்த்துக்கொள்ள அதிக வாய்ப்புகளை உருவாக்குவது பற்றிய உரையாடலைத் தொடங்க இந்த நாள் சரியான சந்தர்ப்பம்.

அதை மனதில் கொண்டு "இளைஞர் திறன் மேம்பாட்டில் முதலீடு செய்வதன் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்த" இந்த நாள் நோக்கமாக உள்ளது.
இளைஞர்களுக்கான தொழில்நுட்ப தொழிற்கல்வி மற்றும் பயிற்சி (TVET) இல்லாமையின் உலகளாவிய சவாலை எதிர்கொள்ள அரசாங்கங்கள், முதலாளிகள், தொழில்கள், பயிற்சி வழங்குநர்கள் மற்றும் பிற பங்குதாரர்களை ஊக்குவிப்பதை இது நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.

15th JULY - WORLD YOUNG SKILLS DAY 2023: World Youth Skills Day is an international observance held annually on 15th July. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed this day in November 2014 to highlight the importance of investing in youth skills development. World Youth Skills Day aims to raise awareness about the need to equip young people with skills for employability, entrepreneurship, and self-employment.

15th JULY - WORLD YOUNG SKILLS DAY 2023: The United Nations announces a new theme for every Youth Skills Day.
The theme for World Youth Skills Day 2023 is Skilling teachers, trainers and youth for a transformative future. It highlights the essential role that teachers, trainers and other educators play in providing skills for youth to transition to the labour market and to actively engage in their communities and societies.
World Youth Skills Day Theme 2022 was "Learning and skills for life, work, and sustainable development."

History of Youth Skills Day
15th JULY - WORLD YOUNG SKILLS DAY 2023: World Youth Skills Day is a United Nations (UN) international day that celebrates the importance of investing in youth skills development. The day intends to "raise awareness on the importance of investing in youth skills development" with that in mind.
It aims to encourage governments, employers, industries, training providers, and other stakeholders to address the global challenge of a lack of technical vocational education and training (TVET) for young people.
UNESCO's former Director-General Irina Bokova described it as "a major opportunity to highlight what is at stake: how to provide youth with socio-economic empowerment and a sense of dignity." The first World Youth Skills Day was marked on 15th July 2015.
Significance of World Youth Skills Day
15th JULY - WORLD YOUNG SKILLS DAY 2023: Through greater cooperation among governments, employers, worker's organizations, and relevant stakeholders, employable youth can be helped in skilling up. Youth Skill Day is about spreading the word about the same.

Various young people are neither in employment, education, or training. A lack of skills is at the core of this issue.
