WORLD ELEPHANT DAY 2023 - 12th AUGUST / உலக யானைகள் தினம் 2023: உலக யானைகள் தினம் என்பது ஆண்டுதோறும் ஆகஸ்ட் 12 அன்று நடைபெறும் சர்வதேச நிகழ்வாகும், இது உலகின் யானைகளைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்கும் பாதுகாப்பதற்கும் அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

கனேடிய திரைப்பட தயாரிப்பாளர்களான பாட்ரிசியா சிம்ஸ் மற்றும் கனஸ்வெஸ்ட் பிக்சர்ஸின் மைக்கேல் கிளார்க் மற்றும் தாய்லாந்தில் உள்ள யானை மறு அறிமுக அறக்கட்டளையின் பொதுச்செயலாளர் சிவபோர்ன் தர்தரானந்தா ஆகியோரால் 2011 இல் உருவானது. இது அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக நிறுவப்பட்டது, மேலும் ஆதரிக்கப்பட்டது மற்றும் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.

யானை மறு அறிமுகம் அறக்கட்டளை மற்றும் திரைப்பட தயாரிப்பாளர்களான பாட்ரிசியா சிம்ஸ் மற்றும் மைக்கேல் கிளார்க் ஆகியோர் 2011 ஆம் ஆண்டில் தினத்தை கொண்டாட முடிவு செய்தனர் மற்றும் முதல் சர்வதேச யானைகள் தினம் 12 ஆகஸ்ட் 2012 அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது.

உலக யானை தின வரலாறு

WORLD ELEPHANT DAY 2023 - 12th AUGUST / உலக யானைகள் தினம் 2023: உலக யானைகள் தினம் 12 ஆகஸ்ட் 2012 அன்று தொடங்கியது, தாய்லாந்தை தளமாகக் கொண்ட யானை மறு அறிமுகம் அறக்கட்டளை கனேடிய திரைப்பட தயாரிப்பாளர் பாட்ரிசியா சிம்ஸுடன் இணைந்தபோது. இது ஒரு நாள் மட்டுமல்ல, ஒரு இயக்கம். 

2012 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல், திருமதி சிம்ஸ் உலக யானை தினத்தை முன்னெடுத்து வருகிறார்.

யானைகள் பற்றிய சுவாரஸ்யமான உண்மைகள்

• யானைக் குட்டிகள் பிறந்து 20 நிமிடங்களில் எழுந்து நிற்கும்.
• யானைகள் சாப்பிட மிகவும் பிடிக்கும், அவை தினமும் சுமார் 16 மணி நேரம் உணவை உண்கின்றன.
• யானைகள் ஒரு நேரத்தில் 80 கேலன் தண்ணீர் வரை குடிக்கும்
• யானைகளுக்கு சன்ஸ்கிரீனாக சேறு செயல்படுகிறது, எனவே யானைகள் சேற்றில் உருள விரும்புகின்றன.
• அவற்றின் தந்தங்கள் பற்கள்: யானையின் தந்தங்கள் உண்மையில் பெரிதாக்கப்பட்ட வெட்டுப் பற்கள் ஆகும், அவை யானைகளுக்கு இரண்டு வயது இருக்கும் போது முதலில் தோன்றும்.
• அச்சுறுத்தும் யானைகள்: ஆப்பிரிக்க யானை உலகளவில் 400,000 க்கும் குறைவான எண்ணிக்கையில் எஞ்சியுள்ளது.
• காணாமல் போன யானைகள்: கடந்த நூற்றாண்டின் தொடக்கத்தில் தாய்லாந்தில் 100,000 யானைகள் இருந்தன - இன்று 4,000க்கும் குறைவான யானைகள் உள்ளன.
• அழிந்து வரும் யானைகள்: ஆசிய யானைகள் உலகளவில் 40,000க்கும் குறைவான எண்ணிக்கையில் எஞ்சியிருக்கும் ஒரு அழிந்து வரும் இனமாகும்.
• அவர்கள் நிறைய சாப்பிடுகிறார்கள்: யானைகளுக்கு ஒரு நாளைக்கு 150 கிலோ வரை உணவு தேவைப்படுகிறது - அது சுமார் 150 பைகள் சிப்ஸுக்கு சமம்!

WORLD ELEPHANT DAY 2023 - 12th AUGUST / உலக யானைகள் தினம் 2023: இன்று உலக யானைகள் தினம் உலகம் முழுவதும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. உலக யானைகள் தினம் 12 ஆகஸ்ட் 2012 அன்று தொடங்கியது. 

யானைகள் தினத்தை கொண்டாடுவதன் முக்கிய நோக்கம் உலகம் முழுவதும் யானைகள் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வையும் பாதுகாப்பையும் மேம்படுத்துவதாகும். 

யானை தேசிய பாரம்பரிய விலங்காகவும் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இத்தகைய சூழ்நிலையில் யானைகளை பாதுகாப்பது ஒவ்வொரு குடிமகனின் கடமையாகும்.

WORLD ELEPHANT DAY 2023 - 12th AUGUST: World Elephant Day is an annual international event on August 12, dedicated to preserving and protecting the world’s elephants. 

Conceived in 2011 by Canadian filmmakers Patricia Sims and Michael Clark of Canazwest Pictures, and Sivaporn Dardarananda, Secretary-General of the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation in Thailand, it was officially founded, and supported and launched by Patricia Sims and the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation on August 12, 2012. 

The objective of celebrating Elephant Day

WORLD ELEPHANT DAY 2023 - 12th AUGUST: World Elephant Day is celebrated every year on 12 August. The Elephant Reintroduction Foundation and filmmakers Patricia Sims and Michael Clarke decided to celebrate the day in 2011 and the first International Elephant Day was observed on 12 August 2012.

WORLD ELEPHANT DAY 2023 - 12th AUGUST: World Elephant Day began on 12 August 2012 , when the Thailand-based Elephant Reintroduction Foundation teamed up with Canadian filmmaker Patricia Sims . It is not just a day but a movement in itself. Since 2012, Ms Sims has been leading World Elephant Day.

• Elephant babies stand up just 20 minutes after birth.
• Elephants are very fond of eating, they spend about 16 hours every day eating food.
• Elephants can drink up to 80 gallons of water at a time
• Mud acts as a sunscreen for elephants, so elephants like to roll in the mud.

WORLD ELEPHANT DAY 2023 - 12th AUGUST: Today World Elephant Day is being celebrated all over the world. World Elephant Day started on 12 August 2012. The main objective of celebrating Elephant Day is to promote awareness and conservation of elephants all over the world.

• They eat a Lot: Elephants need up to 150 kg of food per day — that equals about 150 bags of chips!
• Endangered elephants: The Asian elephant is an endangered species with less than 40,000 remaining worldwide.
• Threatened elephants: The African elephant is threatened with less than 400,000 remaining worldwide.
• Missing elephants: There were over 100,000 elephants in Thailand at the beginning of the last century — today, there are less than 4,000.
