WORLD POST DAY 2023 - 9TH OCTOBER / உலக அஞ்சல் தினம் 2023 - 9வது அக்டோபர்: ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் அக்டோபர் 9 ஆம் தேதி உலக அஞ்சல் தினம் உலகம் முழுவதும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்த சர்வதேச விடுமுறையானது 1874 ஆம் ஆண்டு சுவிட்சர்லாந்தில் தொடங்கப்பட்ட யுனிவர்சல் போஸ்டல் யூனியனின் ஆண்டு நிறைவைக் கொண்டாடுகிறது. 

இந்த விடுமுறையின் நோக்கம் அஞ்சல் துறையை பொதுமக்களின் கவனத்தில் வைப்பதாகும், இதன் மூலம் ஒவ்வொரு நாட்டிலும் இது எவ்வளவு முக்கியமானது மற்றும் அது எவ்வாறு பயனடைகிறது என்பதை அவர்கள் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியும். அதனால்தான் இது உலகம் முழுவதும் 150 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட நாடுகளில் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

The History Of World Post Day

WORLD POST DAY 2023 - 9TH OCTOBER: World Post Day was first declared in Tokyo, Japan in 1969 at the UPU Congress. It was proposed by a member of the Indian delegation, Shri Anand Mohan Narula, and was soon adopted by the United Nations when the IPU became an agency underneath them. It’s since been celebrated every year to underline the importance of postal services to people and businesses around the world.
