WORLD TEACHER'S DAY 2023 - 5TH OCTOBER: World Teachers’ Day 2023 is on Wednesday, 5 October 2023. Teachers’ Day is a global observance and is not a public holiday. The celebration date of world Teachers’ day may vary according to the country.
For instance, the United Nations (UN) along with a number of countries celebrates this day annually on October 5, while the United States on Tuesday during the first full week of May, and Australia observes it on the last Friday of October.
More than 100 countries commemorate World Teachers’ Day and each country holds its own date for celebrations of this event.

The UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize
WORLD TEACHER'S DAY 2023 - 5TH OCTOBER: The UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Teachers was created in 2008. The Prize is generously supported by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum of the United Arab Emirates.
The prize amounts to US $300,000, which is equally divided between the three winners. The winners are selected by an International Jury.
World Teachers’ Day 2023 Theme
WORLD TEACHER'S DAY 2023 - 5TH OCTOBER: World Teachers’ Day 2023 theme is "The Teachers We Need for the Education We Want: The Global Imperative to Reverse the Teacher Shortage".
It aims to reduce the shortage in number of teachers and increase their strength globally, a UNESCO statement said. It will also examine how education systems, societies, communities, and families recognise, appreciate, and actively support teachers.
