இம்பால் போர்க்கப்பல் / IMPHAL WARSHIP 12706: இந்தியக் கடற்படையின் போர்க்கப்பல் வடிவமைப்பு பணியகத்தால் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு, மும்பையின் மசாகான் டாக் கப்பல் கட்டுமான நிறுவனம் வடிவமைத்த இந்தக் கப்பல், உள்நாட்டுக் கப்பல் கட்டுமானத்தின் அடையாளமாகும். 

மேலும், உலகின் மிகவும் தொழில்நுட்ப ரீதியாக மேம்பட்ட போர்க்கப்பல்களில் ஒன்றாகும். இந்தக் கப்பல் 2023, அக்டோபர் 20 அன்று எம்.டி.எல் நிறுவனத்தால் இந்தியக் கடற்படைக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.

7,400 டன் எடையும், 164 மீட்டர் நீளமும் கொண்ட ஏவுகணை அழிப்புக் கப்பலான இம்பால் , தரையில் இருந்து விண்ணில் பாயும் ஏவுகணைகள், கப்பல் எதிர்ப்பு ஏவுகணைகள், டார்பிடோக்கள் உள்ளிட்ட அதிநவீன ஆயுதங்கள் மற்றும் சென்சார்களைக் கொண்ட ஒரு சக்திவாய்ந்த பல்துறை தளமாகும். 

ஒருங்கிணைந்த எரிவாயு மற்றும் எரிவாயு (கோகாக்) உந்துவிசை மூலம் இயக்கப்படும் இது 30 கடல் மைல் (56 கிமீ / மணி) வேகத்தை அடையும் திறன் கொண்டது.

இந்தக் கப்பல் சுமார் 75% அளவிற்கு உள்நாட்டில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட ஏவுகணைகள் உள்ளிட்டவற்றைக் கொண்டுள்ளது.

• தரையில் இருந்து விண்ணில் செலுத்தப்படும் ஏவுகணைகள் (பெல், பெங்களூர்)
• தரையில் ஓரிடத்திலிருந்து மற்றொரு இடத்தை நோக்கி ஏவப்படும் பிரம்மோஸ் ஏவுகணைகள் (பிரம்மோஸ் ஏரோஸ்பேஸ், புதுதில்லி)
• உள்நாட்டு டார்பிடோ டியூப் லாஞ்சர்கள் (லார்சன் & டூப்ரோ, மும்பை)
• நீர்மூழ்கி எதிர்ப்பு உள்நாட்டு ராக்கெட் லாஞ்சர்கள் (லார்சன் & டூப்ரோ, மும்பை)
• 76 மிமீ சூப்பர் ரேபிட் கன் மவுண்ட் (பெல், ஹரித்வார்)

கடந்த 2017-ம் ஆண்டு மே மாதம் 19-ம் தேதி அடிக்கல் நாட்டப்பட்டு, 2019-ம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 20-ம் தேதி கப்பல் கடலில் விடப்பட்டது. இந்தக் கப்பல் தனது முதல் கடல் சோதனைகளுக்காக 2023, ஏப்ரல் 28, அன்று புறப்பட்டது, 

மேலும் துறைமுகம் மற்றும் கடலில் விரிவான சோதனைகளுக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டது, இது ஆறு மாத கால வரையறைக்குள் 2023, அக்டோபர் 20 அன்று விநியோகிக்கப்பட்டது.

இந்தியக் கடற்படை மேம்பட்ட போர்க்கப்பலுக்கு வரலாற்று நகரமான இம்பால் பெயரை வைப்பதில் மிகவும் பெருமை கொள்கிறது. 

வடகிழக்குப் பிராந்தியத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு நகரத்தின் பெயரால் அழைக்கப்படும் முதல் தலைநகர் போர்க்கப்பல் இதுவாகும், இதற்கு குடியரசுத் தலைவரால் 2019, ஏப்ரல் 16 அன்று ஒப்புதல் வழங்கப்பட்டது.

IMPHAL WARSHIP 12706: Designed by the Indian Navy's Bureau of Naval Design and built by Mazakan Dock Shipbuilding, Mumbai, the ship is an icon of indigenous shipbuilding. Also, one of the most technologically advanced warships in the world. The vessel was handed over to the Indian Navy by MTL on 20 October 2023.

Imphal, a 7,400-tonne, 164-metre-long missile destroyer, is a powerful multi-purpose platform with sophisticated weapons and sensors including surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship missiles and torpedoes. 

It is powered by combined gas and gas (Kokak) propulsion and is capable of reaching a speed of 30 nautical miles (56 km/h). The ship is about 75% indigenously made including missiles. 

This includes the following:

• Surface-to-Air Missiles (Bell, Bangalore)
• BrahMos surface-to-air missiles (Brahmos Aerospace, New Delhi)
• Domestic Torpedo Tube Launchers (Larson & Dubro, Mumbai)
• Domestic Anti-Submarine Rocket Launchers (Larson & Dubro, Mumbai)
• 76mm Super Rapid Gun Mount (Bell, Haridwar)

The foundation stone was laid on May 19, 2017 and the ship was launched on April 20, 2019. The ship departed for its first sea trials on April 28, 2023, and underwent extensive trials in port and at sea, which were delivered on October 20, 2023, within a six-month timeframe.

The Indian Navy takes great pride in naming an advanced warship after the historic city of Imphal. It is the first capital ship to be named after a city in the North Eastern region and was approved by the President on 16 April 2019.
